Take the Coach To Royal Ascot
Dated 15/06/2010 by J Wood
A highlight of the horse-racing calendar, Royal Ascot takes place this year from the 15th until the 19th June. The dress code is, as always, formal and smart attire, for the most part. So, this is a great excuse for ladies to get their hats on! Fancy dress is allowed, but taste is imperative. If in doubt, contact the organisers beforehand.
The races kick off at around 2.30 pm and this year's favourites include Goldikova, Paco Boy and RIP Van Winkle. Choosing from where to view the races largely depends on budget, but there are over two hundred and sixty private boxes available for those who can afford to splash out. There are also an array of fine dining restaurants from which to choose when attending Royal Ascot. The view from The Panoramic Restaurant should certainly not be missed.
On a budget, Silver Ring admission starts from just seventeen pounds per ticket. Grandstand Admission starts from fifty six pounds upwards and group booking discounts are available.
With over one hundred thousand people expected to visit the small town of Ascot this year, many people choose to take the stress out of travelling by booking event coach hire for their journey.
When travelling to Royal Ascot, event coach hire firms are encouraged to aim to arrive between ten am and midday. A one way system will be implemented on local roads near the course to help the flow of traffic and a special coach route is set up to further facilitate access.
