NSPCC Child's Voice Appeal

Dated 14/05/2010 by J Wood

The 'Hear Our Cry' NSPCC's Child Voice Appeal will take place from 16th - 20th May 2010. Ten entrepreneurs are taking part and will attempt to undertake a 100k Challenge - which involves running ten 10k races in ten countries in five days.

Starting with the Great Run in Manchester on the 16th May, the group will then travel by ferry, plane and private coach hire to Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne, Luxembourg, Geneva, San Remo, Monaco, Nice and Barcelona. The team includes Phil Adams, Mark Stephenson, Imran Hakim, Ashok Kallumpram, Tony Machin, Wallis Ullah and Mike Perls. The team have had to endure a rigorous training schedule, abide by a strict training diet and have also received coaching from by boxing legend, Ricky Hatton.

ChildLine already takes over two million calls from children each year. Currently, around 750,000 of those calls are unanswered, the Hear Our Cry appeal looks to raise money to address this and expand the telephone service so that as many children as possible can get the help they need.

If you want to donate money or help to support the appeal you can do so by visiting ww.justgiving.com/100kchallenge website or the www.hearourcry.co.uk website. You can even go one step further by turning out to support the runners at each of the races. If you are travelling in a group to any of the races you may well want to consider using private coach hire to keep your costs down – thus allowing you to donate more to the charity!
