First Ever Manchester Day Parade Looks Set to be a Hit.
The first ever Manchester Day Parade is set to take place on the 20th June 2010, so those thinking of travelling to the event should consider booking their private coach hire to Manchester now. The Manchester Evening News broke the story, with the gleeful news that over one hundred organisations from the City have agreed to come on board and get involved in the Parade.
A spokesperson for Manchester City Council has revealed the council's ambition to make the parade event so huge that it is a rival to New York's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Everyone from the area is invited to get involved and that means dance clubs, community groups, schools and even youth clubs. The day will be run by Walk the Plank, who were the group that famously organised the memorable lantern procession at the closing of the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
The aim of the day is to celebrate all of Manchester's past and present achievements and to celebrate everything great about the city. Those who will be travelling to the event by private coach hire to Manchester could even take advantage of a number of proposed discounts at shops, cafés and restaurants.
Manchester has always been a vibrant city and has contributed much to the UK's arts and music scene. A parade to celebrate the 'cultural diversity, history and vision for the future' of Manchester City will be an event that is not to be missed.
