London 2012 edges ever closer!

If you are planning to do nothing more strenuous during the London 2012 Olympics than board your private coach hire down to London and watch everyone else get physical, then the 15th September probably passed without any significance for you! But if you are planning to volunteer your services for the 2012 London Olympics, then the date no doubt got you scrambling online!

The event organisers require a staggering seventy thousand volunteers, to help out over the course of the games. Those members of the public who are interested in volunteering their time, only have from the 15th September 2010 until 27th October 2010, to register their details.

Full details of all positions that need to be filled can be found on the official London2012 website. The organisers have said that they are looking for people who are 'team players,' and can show 'dedication and focus under pressure.' Positions available include event stewards, costume assistants, welcome desk staff, drivers and ticket checkers.

It is thought that at least ten percent of visitors to the games will travel by bus or private coach hire. Tourists travelling to England for the occasion (or indeed just those travelling down south to spectate) may also be interested in private coach hire tours around various attractions, such as the main Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Village, the Velodrome and the Olympic Park. Booking ahead is always advised, but particularly important for such large scale, once in a life time, occasions!
