If you are looking for a fun day out then you should consider a trip to Knowsley Safari Park. A firm favourite with all the family, the park was opened in 1971 and has continued to grow in popularity every since. Only eight miles from Liverpool, this is certainly one of Merseyside's most popular attractions and with tickets from just ten pounds (children and OAPS) the attraction suits and appeals to those on all budgets.

Forget going to the zoo, the safari park allows you to get up close and personal with the animals as you drive through the enclosures. For safety reasons, the lions and tigers and elephants are now enclosed separately, however be warned, the monkeys and baboons like to have a good go at stealing the odd aerial off passing cars.

However, if you don't want to risk scratching your freshly polished pride and joy, then you could consider taking the tour via a private coach – and if that is still too close for comfort, then fear not, because coaches can actually drive around, rather than through, the monkey enclosure!

The park is particularly popular with those looking for educational and fun school trip destinations - with significant ticket price deductions available. For those who simply cannot get enough of the place, you can even buy season tickets! So, have a roaring time - and watch out for those cheeky monkeys!
