If summer is not complete for you without a trip to West London for the Notting Hill Carnival, then get ready to book your event coach hire to London because the time is almost here! In keeping with tradition, the 44th carnival takes place on the last August Bank Holiday weekend - this year this will be Sunday 29th August and Monday 30th August.
It is estimated that over one million people attend the Notting Hill Carnival each year. Sunday 29th August will be, as always, Kids Day. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume and there will also be a steel band competition. Monday at carnival is a time for adults to party and the streets of Westbourne Grove and Ladbroke Grove will come alive with the sound of Caribbean music. The many food stalls will feed hungry Carnival revellers as they make their way through the twenty mile route.
Started in 1966, the carnival has grown from a festival to celebrate the Trinidad and Tobagan community residing in London and is now seen as a wider celebration of London's multi-cultural population, which adds to the event's popularity.
Revellers come from all over the world to take part in the festivities and many book their travel and accommodation months in advance. However, those travelling from other parts of the UK, or indeed from other parts of London, can enjoy a stress free journey to the carnival by travelling by using event coach hire, in particular avoiding the worry of car parking.
