Take inspiration from Celebrity Coach Trip

Dated 23/09/2010 by Joanne Hindle

If you are looking for a private coach hire trip that has star power, then you might just find inspiration in Channel 4's brand new Celebrity Coach Trip. The regular series, Coach Trip, currently airs on the channel and follows a group of tourists who take a private coach trip across Europe, North Africa and Western Asia. However, hoping to replace the gap in scheduling left by Celebrity Big Brother, the television station has commissioned a series featuring well known music and TV personalities.

So far the celebrity names which have been linked to the series include Lulu, Lee Latchford Evans – from Steps, comedian Russ Abbot, astrologer Russell Grant and from 'Pop Idol,' Rik Waller. The new star packed format will air in January. Participants will travel around sampling local cuisines and traditions and taking part in tasks. Contestants will also vote each other off the show, with a two strikes and you are out, yellow and red card voting system.

The current series, which airs at 5.30pm each week day, is the fifth one since the show began in 2004. Tourists on the show travel across three continents by private coach hire, visiting various countries, including Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Morocco and Turkey. The activities that those on the show have taken part in have included Archery, Ice hockey, Summer bobsleigh and Bungee jumping.

The show is well worth a watch if you are considering taking a trip by coach to Europe or beyond and wish to know what you can expect.
