Take a Coach Holiday Abroad
Dated 10/08/2010 by Joanne Hindle
If you are looking for a private coach hire holiday destination with a difference, then why take advice from a travel journalist and visit Belgium? Daily Mail columnist, Neil Clark, recently travelled to Ghent by private coach hire and was full of praise for the city in a recently published article.
The writer spoke of the charms of the medieval City, which is only a ninety minute coach journey from the Ferry port in Calais. The Flemish city has many traditional sight to see and any tourist looking for a holiday destination seeped in historic culture will feel right at home. From visiting the battle grounds of Waterloo, to the one hundred and thirty five foot 'Lion Mound,' one cannot help but be moved by the atmosphere that prevails where so much bloodshed had taken place.
Yes, there is rain, we are warned, but this only adds to the ambience – and is nothing a good brolly, waterproof coat and pair of wellies cannot overcome! For those who like to visit indoor exhibitions, then the Wax museum, Panorama and Mini Cinema are a 'must see' on any private coach hire day tripper's list.
The city has a traditional feel to it, with small shops in abundance –something which many older travellers may find themselves in mourning over their absence, once they return to chain store Britain! The nightlife reflects the quiet underbelly of the city and tourists can take in the relaxed and safe atmosphere on offer.
